Mandaadi Box Office: Soori’s sports drama nets Rs 64.25 crore in eight days

Mandaadi, a sports action drama starring Soori and Suhas, has grossed Rs 64.25 crore in its first eight days, with Day 8 contributing Rs 3.50 crore. The eight-day total signals a steady hold at the box office as the film continues to play in theaters. DPIFF’s newsroom coverage notes the eight-day figure as part of ongoing entertainment coverage.

Most of Mandaadi’s box-office intake comes from Tamil Nadu, where the film has earned about Rs 45.50 crore in eight days. The film also collected roughly Rs 11.25 crore in the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana region (APTS), Rs 5 crore in Karnataka, and around Rs 2.50 crore from the rest of India, bringing the total to Rs 64.25 crore.

Day-by-day box-office tally shows a strong start and continued momentum through Day 4, followed by a gradual taper. The figures (in crore) read: Day 1 — 5.25; Day 2 — 7.25; Day 3 — 11.50; Day 4 — 14.50; Day 5 — 13; Day 6 — 5.25; Day 7 — 4; Day 8 — 3.50 (est.). The eight-day total remains Rs 64.25 crore.

The plot centers on Muthukaali, a former champion traditional sailboat racer who returns to his coastal village after years away. Now living in Chennai as a lifeguard, his return is spurred by Maari, a local racer who seeks his help to take on Sattapuli, Muthukaali’s former friend and rival. Maari persuades him to train an all-local crew to compete against Sattapuli’s formidable team, the Tsunami Riders, as a festival boat race approaches. The story invites a comeback, teamwork, and redemption amid a high-stakes competition.

In addition to the leads, the cast includes Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Krish Hassan, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, and others in key roles. The project is co-written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, with a screenplay by Ameer Jamal Khan, R. Mohana Vasanthan, and Thiral Sankar.
