Brahmastra 2: Namit Malhotra Confirms Plans to Continue Astraverse After Ramayana

The much-awaited update is here: Brahmastra and its sequel. The film was released in 2022 and was planned as a trilogy. Since then, there has been no official announcement about the second part.

Now, Namit Malhotra has shared that work on Brahmastra 2 will begin after he completes Ramayana.

Brahmastra 2 to Begin After Ramayana

During interactions at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Namit Malhotra said that he will take the Astraverse forward with Brahmastra 2.

At present, his focus is on Ramayana, which is currently in production and promotion. Once that is completed, he plans to move to the next part of the Astraverse.

Ayan Mukerji’s Role in the Sequel

Ayan Mukerji, who directed the first part, is currently working on another project. According to Ranbir Kapoor, the director will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2 after finishing his current film.

Ranbir Kapoor has also said earlier that the sequel is in development, even though a formal announcement has not been made yet.

Story Expected to Continue from Part 1

The first film ended with a setup for the next part. The story of Dev and Amrita was introduced in the climax. Brahmastra 2 is expected to continue this storyline and expand the Astraverse further.

Ramayana Promotion and Current Focus

Namit Malhotra and Yash also attended CinemaCon 2026 to promote Ramayana. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, and others.

The team has started sharing early material from the film as part of its global promotion.

What Happens Next

For now, Brahmastra 2 is confirmed to be in planning. Work on the film is expected to begin after Ramayana is completed.
