Shah Rukh Khan confirms King release date, trailer update and Arijit Singh track tease

Shah Rukh Khan has officially confirmed the release date for King, setting December 24, 2026 as the film’s theatrical arrival. The timing places King in a high-stakes holiday window, with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune 3 releasing just days earlier on December 18, intensifying a crowded box-office landscape for the year-end season.
The confirmation came amid Shah Rukh Khan’s AMA session and a broader rollout of updates from Red Chillies Entertainment. The studio posted on Instagram that “KING akela kaafi hai! #KING is Ready to Roar on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas,” underscoring the team’s confidence in the film’s late-December release. In the same discourse, Khan touched on the film’s music, noting that Arijit Singh’s contribution would progress as finishing touches are added. He wrote, “Kar deta. Abhi Arijit dada ko finishing touches dene hain. He is a perfectionist takes some time rightfully.”
Fans have been awaiting a new trailer since the initial teaser dropped in November 2025. Khan acknowledged the delay and defended the pacing, saying, “Sid toh bechara laga hua hai. Late bhai hain… taking time to put our best foot forward so u all enjoy it and feel proud and happy with #King.” The project’s ensemble also includes Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, and Raghav Juyal, all of whom were listed in the public communications surrounding the film.
Filming for King has been described as demanding, with Khan recalling a schedule that involved injuries and breaks as the team pushed through challenging stunts. He stated, “Had a few injuries while shooting, so had to start stop many times but now all broken is fixed… and nearly all done… so all good.” The director at the helm is Siddharth Anand, whose approach to the actioner has been framed around delivering high-octane sequences and a robust musical accompaniment, including Arijit Singh’s track in finishing stages.
