UP CM Yogi Adityanath Declares ‘Krishnavataram’ Tax-Free In Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath has announced that the film Krishnavataram will be tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made after he attended a special screening of the film at the Lok Bhavan auditorium in Lucknow on Sunday.

According to reports, the screening took place after the Uttar Pradesh cabinet expansion and was attended by several leaders and ministers, including Governor Anandiben Patel, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak along with other public representatives.

Reports mention that during the screening, people inside the auditorium were chanting “Krishna-Krishna” and “Radhe-Radhe”. After the film, Yogi Adityanath also met and congratulated the actors and team connected to the project.

While speaking about the film, the Chief Minister said Krishnavataram presents the story of Lord Krishna from a human point of view and also shows parts of the Dwapar era, Sanatan culture and Indian traditions. He also mentioned that stories connected to Radha, Rukmini and Satyabhama are shown in the film.

He further asked the Information Department to organise screenings of the film across districts in Uttar Pradesh so that children and young audiences could learn more about Indian culture and heritage through cinema.

The occasion was also described as special for Governor Anandiben Patel because her granddaughter Sanskruti plays the role of Satyabhama in the film. Anandiben Patel reportedly said that more films based on Indian culture and traditions should be made.

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, Krishnavataram released on May 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film stars Siddharth Gupta, Sanskruti, Sushmita Bhatt and Nivasini Krishnan in lead roles, while Jackie Shroff and Ashutosh Rana also play important parts in the film.
