“It’s emotional, it’s nostalgic…” Producer and Star Tom Cruise on Celebrating Top Gun’s 40th Anniversary

Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick Fly into Theatres on 15 May for One Week Only

Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time, the cockpit is calling. To mark the 40th anniversary of the 1986 blockbuster, Paramount Pictures has released a brand-new featurette taking audiences behind the scenes of the iconic franchise. Producer and star Tom Cruise is joined by Top Gun: Maverick cast members Glen Powell, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly as they reflect on the films’ legacy and what keeps audiences coming back.

Both Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick return to theatres 15 May for one week only.

TOP GUN 

A class of elite, hot shot Navy pilots at the Fighter Weapons School known as Top Gun push their aircraft and each other to the limits as they compete to be the best of the best. Tom Cruise stars as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in the iconic 1986 blockbuster that defined a generation.

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”

Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
