Ranveer Singh Acquires The Immortals Of Meluha Rights
Ranveer Singh has been making headlines after the success of the Dhurandhar films, and now another update around the actor is getting attention. As per recent reports, Ranveer has bought the rights to Amish Tripathi’s popular book series The Immortals of Meluha for around Rs 40 crore. The rights have reportedly been acquired under his production house, Maa Kasam Films.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Ranveer’s name has been linked to the project. A few years back, there were talks about Sanjay Leela Bhansali planning a film based on the book series with Ranveer in the lead. The project, however, never moved ahead. But it looks like Ranveer still wanted to bring that world on screen and has now taken things into his own hands.
The Immortals of Meluha is the first book from Amish Tripathi’s Shiva Trilogy. The story looks at Lord Shiva in a different way and mixes mythology with fiction. Over the years, the books have built a strong fan following across India, and many readers have hoped to see the story adapted into a film franchise.
According to reports, Ranveer has already started early development work on the project. The film is expected to be mounted on a large scale, though the makers are still working on the script and director selection. Reports also suggest that the adaptation may not go on floors before 2028.
Right now, Ranveer is also busy with other projects. After the Dhurandhar franchise, he is reportedly preparing for Pralay, which has already created conversation online because of its scale and budget discussions. Before Dhurandhar, Ranveer was seen in films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, 83, Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus.
On the other hand, author Amish Tripathi’s books have continued to remain popular among readers for years. Apart from the Shiva Trilogy, his Ram Chandra series also received a strong response and became one of the most talked-about mythology-fiction book franchises in India.
