Panchayat Season 5 Confirmed For 2026 On Prime Video

Panchayat will return with Season 5 on  Prime Video in 2026. The new season will continue Abhishek Tripathi’s story in Phulera after the events of Season 4.  

Created by The Viral Fever, Panchayat first released in 2020 and follows the life of Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who joins the gram panchayat office in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh, after failing to find a corporate job.

The series stars Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, along with Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, Ashok Pathak and Aasif Khan. The show is written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra.  

Prime Video confirmed the fifth season during its 2026 content announcement event. Reports state that the new season will focus on Abhishek dealing with a difficult work environment under the new leadership in Phulera while also preparing for his MBA plans.  

Season 4 ended with political changes in the village after the panchayat election. Kranti Devi defeated Manju Devi, changing the balance inside the village administration. The ending also showed Abhishek clearing the CAT exam while remaining connected to Phulera and its people.

The relationship between Abhishek and Rinki is also to continue in Season 5. The upcoming season may further explore whether Abhishek leaves the village for higher studies or stays back because of his personal reasons and responsibilities.

Over the years, Panchayat has become one of the most-watched and loved Hindi streaming shows in India. At the International Film Festival of India, Panchayat Season 2 won the Best Web Series (OTT) award.
