Kiccha Sudeep May Return As Director; Actor Working On Four New Projects
Kiccha Sudeep could soon return to direction after more than a decade. According to reports, the actor is currently developing multiple projects, including one that may see him take charge as a director once again.
Sudeep was last seen in Max, which was released in December 2025. While he has largely stayed away from announcing new films since then, several projects are now said to be in different stages of development.
His next confirmed release is Billa Ranga Baashaa, directed by Anup Bhandari. The film is set in the year 2209 and had completed a portion of its shoot before work was paused during the production of Max. Filming is expected to resume in June 2026.
Apart from Billa Ranga Baashaa, reports suggest that Sudeep is working on four new projects across different genres. One of these films could mark his return as a director. He last directed Maanikya in 2014, a Kannada remake of the Telugu film Mirchi. The film starred Sudeep in the lead role and went on to become one of the notable releases of that year.
The actor’s possible return behind the camera has generated interest among fans, as he has balanced acting, writing and directing at different stages of his career.
Recently, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj also shared a social media post after meeting Sudeep, writing, “A lot to talk, a lot to plan.” The post led to speculation about a possible collaboration between the two filmmakers, though no official announcement has been made so far.
For now, Billa Ranga Baashaa remains Sudeep’s immediate focus, while more details about his upcoming projects are expected to be announced in the coming months.
