Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga Trailer Released Ahead Of June 12 Release

Imtiaz Ali’s next film Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari. The trailer of the film has now been released before its theatrical release on June 12, 2026.

The trailer of Main Vaapas Aaunga has been released by the makers. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari in lead roles.

According to the makers, the story follows themes of love, separation and memories connected across different time periods. The film also touches upon stories linked to the Partition of India and the impact it left on people and families over the years.

Speaking about the film, Imtiaz Ali said the story focuses on a love that remained in someone’s heart for 78 years after Partition. He added that the film was inspired by stories he heard from people who witnessed Partition themselves. He also said the film looks at relationships and emotions from both past and present timelines.

The trailer introduces the central characters and shows moments connected through memories, letters, travel and relationships. The film combines events from different generations while following a present-day narrative.

The music of the film has been composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics written by Irshad Kamil. The trio of Imtiaz Ali, A. R. Rahman and Irshad Kamil has previously worked together on films including Rockstar, Highway and Tamasha.

Sunil Chainani, Business Head of Movies at Applause Entertainment, said the response to the teaser and songs encouraged the team to release the trailer. He added that the film would be presented as a theatrical release.

Main Vaapas Aaunga is produced by Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films. The film is backed by Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar.

The film will release in cinemas on June 12, 2026. Music rights are with Tips Music.
