Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection Day 1: Mohanlal’s Film Earns Rs 15.85 Crore Net In India
Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam 3 opened in cinemas on May 21 and recorded Rs 15.85 crore net in India on its first day. The film also posted strong numbers overseas, taking its worldwide total to around Rs 43 crore.
Drishyam 3 has started its theatrical run with a solid opening at the box office. Directed by Jeethu Joseph and led by Mohanlal, the third instalment of the Drishyam franchise collected an estimated Rs 15.85 crore net in India on Day 1, according to early trade estimates.
The film was released on May 21 and saw strong attendance across Kerala, where audiences returned to watch Georgekutty’s story continue more than a decade after the first film was released in 2013. Kerala emerged as the biggest market for the film, contributing around Rs 11.15 crore gross on the opening day.
The Malayalam version accounted for most of the collections, earning approximately Rs 13.70 crore net. The Telugu dubbed version also registered an estimated Rs 1.50 crore net from selected centres.
Outside India, Drishyam 3 reported an estimated Rs 25 crore gross on its opening day. Combined with domestic collections, the film’s worldwide total stood at around Rs 43.37 crore gross within its first 24 hours.
The film brings back several actors from the earlier installments, including Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique and Asha Sarath.
Drishyam 3 follows Georgekutty and his family years after the events of the second film, as developments from the past once again affect their lives. The franchise began with Drishyam in 2013 and expanded with Drishyam 2 in 2021, becoming one of Malayalam cinema’s most recognised thriller series.
