Comedy Culture brings a series every overthinker in love will relate to: ‘Short & Sweet’
Harsh Rane’s vertical series “Short & Sweet” is a look at fear, attachment, and confusion in modern relationships.
Scrolling has changed the way people watch stories today. From films and web shows to short-format content, vertical series are slowly becoming part of the daily viewing habit on social media platforms. Instagram creators and digital pages are now experimenting with stories made specially for phone screens, and one such project is now coming from Comedy Culture.
Comedy Culture recently announced its upcoming vertical series Short & Sweet. The poster features actors Harsh Rane and Anushka Kaushik in the lead. Along with them, Ravish Shetty, Raj Nagvekar and Rohit Shah are also part of the cast.
The makers shared the announcement with the line, “Pyar thoda vertical hai, but feel horizontal hai,” giving a glimpse into the tone of the series. As the title suggests, the show focuses on short-format storytelling around relationships and everyday moments.
The recently released trailer adds more context to the story. One of the lines highlighted in the trailer says, “Kabhi kabhi pyaar tootne ki wajah dhokha nahi hoti, wajah hoti hai darr.”
The trailer presents a relationship where confusion, attachment, insecurity and overthinking slowly affect two people emotionally. It shows conversations, emotional distance and fear that many people today relate to in relationships.
Another line from the trailer, “Life is too short, so let’s make it sweet,” becomes one of the central thoughts of the series. The teaser hints at a love story that is not perfect and does not try to present relationships in a filtered way. Instead, it focuses on situations that often happen in real life between couples and people who struggle with emotional communication.
The trailer has already started getting reactions online because many viewers feel the situations shown in the series look personal and familiar to today’s generation. The theme of fear in relationships becomes one of the main points throughout the teaser.
The series is presented and produced by Comedy Culture. The project has been created by Harsh Rane, while Sameer Sawant has written and directed the series.
Vertical series have become more common over the last few years as audiences spend more time consuming content on mobile phones. Platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and short-video apps have opened space for creators to tell stories in a quicker format. Many digital creators are now building episodic content specially designed for vertical viewing instead of the traditional widescreen format.
Comedy Culture has been active in digital entertainment through sketch videos, social media content and creator-led collaborations. The page has built an audience online with short comedy videos and relatable content formats. With Short & Sweet, the platform is now entering the scripted vertical-series space.
The poster of the series also reflects the social media setting of the story, showing comment bubbles and online interactions around the lead characters. While the makers have not yet announced the release date, the series is expected to stream on Comedy Culture’s platform soon.
