Bhumi Pednekar Reportedly Exits ‘The Royals’ Season 2 As Makers Shift Focus Towards Royal Family Story

The Royals is reportedly going through a major change before its second season. According to reports, Bhumi Pednekar will no longer be a part of the upcoming season as the makers are planning to take the story in a different direction.

The first season of The Royals mainly revolved around the romance track, but reports now suggest that Season 2 will focus more on the royal family, their relationships and the world around them instead of continuing the love story in the same way.

The show had ended its first season on an incomplete romantic note, which left many viewers wondering what would happen next. However, sources close to the production have reportedly said that the audience connected more with the family dynamics and the royal setup of the series.

The source also reportedly clarified that Bhumi’s exit was not because of any disagreement with the team. According to the report, the makers simply decided to move ahead with a storyline that focuses more on the larger family space and the different characters within that world.

Apart from Bhumi Pednekar, the first season also featured actors like Ishaan Khatter, Sakshi Tanwar, Zeenat Aman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat and Kavya Trehan.

Meanwhile, reports claim that Bhumi Pednekar is now looking at projects that fit the kind of roles she has been choosing lately. She is reportedly in talks for a courtroom drama connected to HAQ and is also expected to work opposite Imran Khan in a Netflix project that is being described as his comeback.

Reports also suggest that Bhumi may begin work on Daldal 2 in the coming months.

Even after this reported casting change, sources say The Royals Season 2 will continue from the same world created in the first season, but with a fresh focus on the family and palace drama.
