Batwara 1947 Trailer to Release at Jaipur’s Raj Mandir on July 28; Mumbai Event on July 29
The trailer of Sunny Deol-starrer Batwara 1947 will be unveiled on July 28 at Jaipur’s iconic Raj Mandir Cinema, followed by a second event in Mumbai on July 29.
Raj Mandir is one of Jaipur’s most recognisable single-screen theatres, known for its distinctive architecture and grand interiors. Over the years, the theatre has also hosted several film promotions and celebrity events.
The venue has a special connection with Sunny Deol. The actor had earlier visited Raj Mandir to promote the re-release of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha ahead of Gadar 2 and later returned to promote Jaat. Both films went on to perform well at the box office, making the theatre a familiar promotional stop for the actor.
For the Batwara 1947 trailer launch, fans and local media will get an opportunity to watch the trailer and see Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi. Producer Aamir Khan is also expected to attend the events in Jaipur and Mumbai.
The film reunites Sunny Deol with Rajkumar Santoshi after their earlier collaborations and is produced by Aamir Khan. The cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol.
Based on Syed Asghar Wajahat’s play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, Batwara 1947 is set against the backdrop of Partition. The story follows a Muslim family that moves from Lucknow to Lahore and is given a haveli left behind by a Hindu family. The film explores the relationship that develops between the family and an elderly Hindu woman who refuses to leave her ancestral home.
The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 14, 2026.
