Awarapan 2 Teaser To Release On June 29, 19 Years After Emraan Hashmi’s Cult Classic Hit Theatres

The makers of Awarapan 2 have announced that the film’s teaser will be unveiled on June 29, the same day the original Awarapan completed 19 years since its release. The sequel marks Emraan Hashmi’s return as Shivam Pandit and is scheduled to release on August 14, 2026.

The makers of Awarapan 2 have officially announced that the film’s teaser will be released on June 29 at 11 AM. The announcement comes on a special date, marking 19 years since the release of the original Awarapan in 2007.

On Friday, the team shared a short video on Instagram revealing the official logo of Awarapan 2. Along with the logo, they confirmed the teaser launch date with the caption, “Unveiling the Soul of Awarapan 2. A Melody, A Memory, A New Journey Begins. Teaser out on June 29th!”

The date holds emotional value for fans of the original film. Although Awarapan did not perform well at the box office when it was released in 2007, it gradually earned cult status over the years. Today, many fans consider it one of Emraan Hashmi’s most loved performances.

Directed by Mohit Suri, the original film starred Emraan Hashmi and Shriya Saran. It followed the story of Shivam Pandit, a hitman who is assigned to keep an eye on his boss’s mistress. As he learns about her circumstances, his life takes a different turn. The film also became popular for its music, with songs like Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta continuing to remain fan favourites.

The sequel brings back Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit. Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in key roles. The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films.

Awarapan 2 is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 14, 2026.
