Arijit Singh records 200 takes for Ramayana’s Jai Jai Ram

Arijit Singh reportedly recorded nearly 200 takes for Jai Jai Ram, the devotional track unveiled during Ganesh Chaturthi as part of Ramayana’s musical lineup. The sequence underscores the depth of immersion the producers are asking audiences to feel ahead of the film’s slated release window.

A source described the recording process, saying, “Arijit Singh was completely immersed in the devotion of Jai Jai Ram while recording it, resulting in nearly 200 takes. He kept exploring the emotion with every take and was so lost in the feeling that he simply didn’t want it to end. Eventually, he stopped thinking about the technicalities and surrendered to the emotion of the song.” The track Jai Jai Ram is sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with AR Rahman composing and Dr. Kumar Vishwas penning the lyrics. The devotional number offered a brief glimpse into the world of Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita.

Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film’s first instalment is set to release worldwide on November 6, 2026. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, the film features Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, and a lineup including Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi and others in key roles.

In a related update from Ranbir Kapoor’s slate, Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The shoot has recently wrapped, with the project targeting a January 21, 2027 release date.
