Our Commitment to Accuracy

The DPIFF Editorial Desk takes reasonable steps to verify facts and information before publication. Our editorial process includes reviewing available sources, checking names, dates, figures, quotations, and other material facts where appropriate.

Despite these efforts, errors can occasionally occur. When a material error is identified, DPIFF will correct it promptly and transparently.

We do not intentionally publish false or misleading information.

Types of Editorial Changes

1. Correction

A correction is issued when a published article contains a factual error that materially affects the reader's understanding of the story.

Examples may include:

• Incorrect names or titles
• Incorrect dates or locations
• Incorrect figures or statistics
• Incorrect film release information
• Incorrect attribution or quotation
• Other material factual inaccuracies

When a material error is confirmed, the article will be corrected and a visible correction note may be added to the article identifying the nature and date of the correction.

2. Clarification

A clarification is issued when the published information is substantially accurate but may reasonably be misunderstood because of wording, context, or lack of sufficient explanation.

A clarification may add context or improve wording without suggesting that the original factual information was incorrect.

3. Update

An update is used when new, relevant information becomes available after an article was originally published.

This may include developing information relating to:

• Film release dates
• Cast or crew announcements
• Festival developments
• Awards and nominations
• Box-office figures
• Official statements
• Other significant developments

Updated articles will retain their original publication date and may display a visible "Updated" date where the change is materially relevant to the story.

4. Retraction

A retraction may be issued when a published article, or a substantial part of it, is determined to contain information that is materially false, unreliable, improperly attributed, or otherwise cannot responsibly remain published.

Where appropriate, DPIFF may remove or substantially revise the affected content and publish a clear retraction notice explaining the reason for the action.

Retractions will not be used to conceal legitimate criticism, editorial disagreement, or unfavorable coverage.

5. Minor Editorial Changes

Minor spelling, punctuation, grammatical, formatting, or typographical corrections that do not change the meaning or factual substance of an article may be made without a formal correction notice.

Material factual changes will not be treated as minor edits.

How to Report an Error

Readers, subjects of coverage, representatives, and other interested parties may report a potential factual error to the DPIFF Editorial Desk.

When reporting an error, please provide:

• The URL of the article
• The specific statement or information believed to be incorrect
• A clear explanation of the issue
• Supporting documentation or a reliable source, where available
• Your name and contact information, where appropriate

Submitting a correction request does not guarantee that a correction will be published. DPIFF independently reviews the information and determines whether a correction, clarification, update, or retraction is warranted.

Our Review Process

All substantive correction and retraction requests are reviewed by the DPIFF Editorial Desk.

The editorial team may verify the claim against:

• Official records and statements
• Primary sources
• Reliable published sources
• Documents or evidence supplied by the person reporting the issue
• Other credible information available to the editorial team

Where an error is verified, DPIFF will make the appropriate correction or other editorial change without undue delay.

Correction decisions are based on factual accuracy and editorial standards, not on commercial relationships, personal preferences, or external pressure.

Transparency of Corrections

DPIFF does not intentionally make material factual corrections in a manner designed to conceal the existence of the original error.

Where a material correction is made, the article may include a visible correction notice indicating that the article was corrected and the date of the correction.

Significant updates and retractions will also be identified appropriately so that readers can understand the editorial history of the article.

Editorial Independence

DPIFF's editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, commercial partners, event participants, filmmakers, public relations representatives, and other external parties.

A request to change or remove published information will be evaluated according to factual accuracy, evidence, editorial standards, and applicable policies.

Commercial or personal interests do not determine whether a factual correction is made.

Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to news reports, announcements, interviews, features, explainers, and other editorial content published under the DPIFF News / Newsroom sections.

It does not necessarily apply to purely promotional, advertising, sponsored, user-submitted, or third-party content, which may be governed by separate terms or disclosures.
