Fauzi: Prabhas-starrer period actioner eyes February 2027 release

Fauzi, the Prabhas-led period epic, is reportedly being pushed to February 2027 from its original December 3, 2026 release date due to extended post-production work. The makers are considering a February 2027 release, according to reports, with Prabhas expected to wrap his shoot soon while several portions of the film remain to be filmed. DPIFF’s release updates indicate no official date has been announced yet.

Fauzi is described as a period epic featuring Prabhas as a British Indian soldier in a fictional story set against a historical backdrop. The film also marks the debut of internet personality Imanvi as the female lead, alongside veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada in pivotal roles.

Prabhas’ work front includes The Raja Saab, and he is set to headline Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Spirit is described as an action film in production, scheduled to release in theatres on March 5, 2027, with Triptii Dimri playing the co-lead and Vivek Oberoi as the primary antagonist. The industry has noted Fauzi’s shift in date while Spirit remains on track for its March 2027 window.

The official release date for Fauzi has not been announced yet, and conversations with Netflix regarding digital rights are ongoing. As the production team leans toward a February 2027 plan, a final date will hinge on completing post-production and securing a formal confirmation from the distributors.

For readers following DPIFF’s coverage of upcoming releases, DPIFF will continue tracking Fauzi for updates and will publish official release information as soon as it becomes available. DPIFF News
