Mandaadi has grossed Rs 57 crore in six days and held steady on Tuesday, marking a strong early run for the Soori-starrer sports drama.
Over six days, the film’s box office total stands at Rs 57 crore at the Indian box office, with a day-by-day breakdown showing growth through the weekend and a Tuesday update of around Rs 6 crore (est.). Day 1: Rs 5.25 crore; Day 2: Rs 7.25 crore; Day 3: Rs 11.50 crore; Day 4: Rs 14.25 crore; Day 5: Rs 12.5 crore; Day 6 (est.): Rs 6 crore. Total: Rs 57 crore.
Mandaadi follows Muthukaali, a former champion traditional sailboat racer who returns to his coastal village after years away. Maari, a young local racer who seeks his help, challenges Sattapuli—Muthukaali’s former friend and rival. Maari convinces him to train an all-local crew to take on Sattapuli’s formidable team, the Tsunami Riders, as the race approaches and redemption beckons.
Apart from leads Soori and Suhas, the film features Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Krish Hassan, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, and others in key roles.
Co-written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi is also penned by Ameer Jamal Khan, R. Mohana Vasanthan and Thiral Sankar.
