Arijit Singh Returns to Playback Singing With ‘Yeh Awarapan’ From Awarapan 2

Arijit Singh is back with a new Hindi film song, and this time, the connection goes back to where his film music journey began.

The singer has lent his voice to Yeh Awarapan, the title track of Awarapan 2. The song is composed by Amaal Mallik, with lyrics by Rashmi Virag, and brings Arijit back with Vishesh Films after several years.

The song also carries a familiar name with it. Awarapan is remembered for its music, and the sequel is now trying to continue that musical connection with a new generation of listeners.

Arijit’s voice has been a part of some of the biggest Hindi film songs of the last decade, from Tum Hi Ho and Channa Mereya to Agar Tum Saath Ho, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kesariya. His last major Hindi film song before this was Tere Sang Ishq Hua from Yodha, released in 2024, although he has continued to release music and work across different projects since then.

With Yeh Awarapan, Arijit returns to the kind of emotional space that audiences have come to associate with him.

The song also has a special connection with Vishesh Films. Arijit’s first Hindi film song, Phir Mohabbat from Murder 2, came from the production house. Years later, he is now returning to the banner with Yeh Awarapan.

The song brings back the world of Shivam Pandit, played by Emraan Hashmi, whose character is once again at the centre of Awarapan 2. Emraan’s intense screen presence, combined with Arijit’s voice, gives the song a familiar feel for fans of the original film.

The track comes after the response to Ve Junoon, the first song from the film, which reportedly crossed 30 million views on YouTube and also made it to the platform’s trending list.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqi, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Atul Kumar and Aniruddh Rawal.

The film is scheduled to release worldwide on August 14, 2026.
