Awarapan 2 Teaser Out: Emraan Hashmi Returns As Shivam Pandit After 19 Years

After months of anticipation, the makers of Awarapan 2 have officially released the film’s first teaser. The announcement comes on June 29, the same date on which the original Awarapan was released in 2007. 

Nearly two decades later, Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, one of the most remembered characters from his career.

The teaser begins with Emraan Hashmi riding a motorcycle while delivering the dialogue, “Kuch logon ki kahaniyan unki marzi se khatam nahi hoti. Unki kahani dusron ke liye likhi jaati hai.” The opening instantly reconnects audiences with Shivam’s journey and forms the tone for the sequel.

One of the emotional moments in the teaser is Shivam paying tribute to Aaliyah, the character played by Shriya Saran in the original film. The brief sequence establishes a connection between the first film and the sequel, reminding the viewers that Shivam’s past continues to play an important role in his story.

The teaser also brings back one of the biggest memories associated with Awarapan, that is its music. A new version of Toh Phir Aao plays in the background, with music by Mithoon. The original soundtrack remains popular even today, and the return of the song has generated positive reactions from fans who have been waiting to revisit the film’s musical world.

Another dialogue from Emraan Hashmi’s character stands out during the teaser: “Dard se purana rishta hai mera.” The line continues the emotional tone that defined the first film and hints at another difficult journey for Shivam.

Apart from Emraan Hashmi, the teaser also offers brief glimpses of Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, who play key roles in the sequel. However, the focus remains firmly on Shivam Pandit and his return after 19 years.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

The original Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, was released in 2007. Although it did not perform strongly at the box office during its initial release, the film gradually gained a cult following over the years because of its story, performances and music.
