Producer Nidhi Dutta has revealed a five-project slate under JP Films, including Border 3, a biopic on General Harbaksh Singh, an Air Force drama inspired by Operation Sindoor, a treasure-hunt franchise and a digital series based on the life of her grandfather, OP Dutta.
Following the success of Border 2, producer Nidhi Dutta has announced an ambitious new slate of projects under JP Films, the banner founded by filmmaker JP Dutta.
Speaking about the upcoming plans, Nidhi revealed that the studio is currently working on five projects across different genres, ranging from military dramas and biopics to adventure films and digital content.
One of the biggest announcements is Border 3, which is currently in the early stages of development in collaboration with producer Bhushan Kumar. The film will continue the Border franchise, which has been associated with stories of the Indian armed forces for decades.
Apart from Border 3, JP Films is also developing a biopic on General Harbaksh Singh, the former Indian Army commander who played a key role during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan.
Another military-themed project on the slate is an Air Force drama set during and after Operation Sindoor. The film will focus on the personal lives of service personnel and the challenges faced by them and their families.
Moving beyond war dramas, Nidhi Dutta is also working on a treasure-hunt action adventure film. The project is being planned as the first chapter of a three-part franchise and is expected to be among the first films from the new slate to go on floors.
The final project announced is a long-format digital series based on the life of her grandfather, OP Dutta. According to Nidhi, the series will explore his journey in cinema, family legacy and the challenges faced throughout his career.
Nidhi Dutta added that production schedules are currently being finalised, and some of these projects are expected to begin filming in the coming months, with individual announcements likely to follow soon.
