From Cocktail 2 and Welcome To The Jungle to Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Bandar: 7 Hindi Films Releasing In Theatres In June 2026

June 2026 is bringing a mix of comedy, romance, drama and thriller films to theatres. From Varun Dhawan returning with his father David Dhawan to Shahid Kapoor stepping into Cocktail 2 and Akshay Kumar leading a big ensemble in Welcome To The Jungle, several major Hindi releases are lined up through the month.

1. Bandar

Release Date: June 5, 2026

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bandar stars Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad and Indrajith Sukumaran. The film follows an ageing artist whose life changes after he gets linked to an unexpected incident. As the story moves ahead, hidden truths and personal conflicts begin to come out.

The film marks another collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and Bobby Deol after Class of ’83. Over the years, Kashyap has directed films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday and Dev.D, while Bobby Deol has recently appeared in projects including Animal and Aashram.

2. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

Release Date: June 5, 2026

Varun Dhawan reunites with director David Dhawan for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde and Jimmy Sheirgill.

This is another collaboration between Varun and David after Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2 and Coolie No. 1. David Dhawan is known for directing comedy films through the 1990s and 2000s including Biwi No.1, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Partner.

The title of the film is taken from the popular song from Biwi No.1 starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Sushmita Sen.

3. Main Vaapas Aaunga

Release Date: June 12, 2026

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina and Naseeruddin Shah. The story reportedly moves across two timelines and follows themes of memory, love and relationships across generations.

Imtiaz Ali previously directed films like Jab We Met, Rockstar, Highway and Amar Singh Chamkila. Diljit Dosanjh worked with him earlier in Chamkila, based on Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila’s life.

4. The Silent Saviour Governor

Release Date: June 12, 2026

The Silent Saviour Governor stars Manoj Bajpayee and Adah Sharma and is directed by Chinmay D. Mandlekar. The film is backed by producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

Manoj Bajpayee is known for films like Satya, Aligarh and Gangs of Wasseypur along with series such as The Family Man. Adah Sharma was recently seen in projects including The Kerala Story and Sunflower.

5. Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past

Release Date: June 12, 2026

Vikram Bhatt returns to the Haunted franchise with Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past. The film stars Mahakshay Chakraborty, Chetna Pande and Shruti Prakash.

The original Haunted 3D released in 2011 and became known for being one of the early Indian horror films presented in stereoscopic 3D format. Vikram Bhatt has directed several horror films over the years including Raaz, 1920 and Shaapit.

6. Cocktail 2

Release Date: June 19, 2026

Cocktail 2 stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna and is directed by Homi Adajania. The film is being described as a spiritual follow-up to Cocktail, which released in 2012 with Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.

The original film explored friendship, relationships and modern dating. Homi Adajania has also directed films like Finding Fanny and Murder Mubarak.

7. Welcome To The Jungle

Release Date: June 26, 2026

Welcome To The Jungle brings back the Welcome franchise with a large cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and Raveena Tandon. The film is directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala.

The original Welcome released in 2007 and starred Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Katrina Kaif. It later became one of the popular comedy franchises in Hindi cinema.

The new film is expected to continue the comedy setup while adding an action and jungle-based storyline with multiple characters.

With sequels, franchise films, romantic dramas and thrillers releasing through June, theatres are set to see a packed month across genres and star casts.
