Mumbai, Maharashtra, December 16, 2023: Demonstrating a dedication to social responsibility, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) recently commenced it’s one of the significant CSR initiatives focused on ‘Raising Awareness on Women’s Hygiene.’ This impactful endeavour unfolded on December 16, 2023, with the goal of empowering over 75+ women facing economic challenges.
The initiative kicked off with an informative session aimed at educating women about hygiene, led by Dr. Pranali Naresh Chavarkar, who shared valuable insights to equip participants with essential knowledge for their well-being. This pivotal step set the tone for a day centered on promoting health and awareness.
Understanding the practical needs of the women, the DPIFF team took a thoughtful approach by distributing Avni Cotton Antimicrobial Pads—one Large and one XL Pad. This initiative transcends mere awareness-raising, providing tangible support to address the hygiene needs of the participants. Along with the pads, each woman received a hot water bag, essential items contributing to their overall well-being.
The distribution of these items was a gesture aimed at ensuring that the women had access to necessary resources for maintaining their hygiene. The Pads, designed for comfort and protection, can be Washed and Reused up to 100 times and can be used for over 3 years, thereby also contributing to a sustainable environment.
With the ‘We For World Foundation’ a registered entity under Niti Aayog, took the lead in planning and executing the Beach Clean-Up Drive. The initiative, one of ten CSR activities scheduled for the year, holds the promise of rejuvenating and resetting the delicate coastal ecosystem. DPIFF has an illustrious history of conducting successful clean-up drives for the past five years, with thousands of dedicated volunteers joining hands to make a substantial impact. Their past activities have garnered praise from influential leaders, including the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
